The Osteopathic Centre has been providing osteopathic manual therapy for the residents of Maidenhead and surrounding regions for 40 years.
What We Do
Our first priority is to listen carefully to your story and take down a detailed account of the problem. Then, by a series of questions, we do our best to ensure that there is no underlying health problem that ought first to be dealt with by your doctor. The history-taking is backed up by using careful observation and our hands. We gently examine and assess problems that are in most cases to do with the musculo-skeletal system. These are often, but not always, related to the back or spine.
What we treat
We find that tension and stress, both physical and emotional, can often complicate the problem. We treat the pain and stiffness caused by the effects of wear and tear (arthritis), poor posture, and the results of physical injuries, including sports injuries. We also treat patients who come to us complaining of sciatica, leg pain, whiplash, and headaches, including migraine. For more details of what to expect as a patient, please go to the page "Osteopathy-is it best for me?" and read the section headed: "Examination & Treatment".
Most New Patients come to us as a result of personal recommendation by existing or previous patients. However, almost as many are referred for osteopathy directly by their local doctors, GP group practices, consultants and other health professionals, with whom we have developed excellent working relations. The remainder are self-referred via this web site (thank you for visiting - and reading this far!), other web links and, of course, Yellow Pages.
We Have a Central Location in Maidenhead with convenient off-street parking at the rear of the premises. There is a gently ramped entrance to the reception and waiting room directly from the car park.
By foot from Maidenhead railway station, the practice is only 8-10 minutes' walk away. Go north along Kings Street, past the end of Maidenhead High Street pedestrian zone and then to the left out of an underpass and onto the Marlow Road. Take the zebra crossing and The Crescent is then 50 yards farther along on the left.
